Lava Shell Massage in Syston, Leicester
Let soothing warmth melt away tension and stress.
Lava Shell Massage is a deeply relaxing heated massage that combines the comforting warmth of self-heating porcelain shells with slow, flowing massage movements and the therapist's hands.
The smooth, warm shells become an extension of my hands, allowing heat and massage to work together across the back, neck and shoulders. Slow, deeper movements are used to warm and relax the muscles while focused massage techniques help ease areas of muscular tightness and tension.
Combined with a beautifully scented massage oil, this is a wonderfully indulgent treatment when you want to switch off, relax and enjoy the comforting sensation of warmth.
Lava Shell Massage is available at Pamper Room in Syston, Leicester and is personally carried out by Angela.

What Are Lava Shells?
Lava Shells are smooth, self-heating massage tools made from non-porous porcelain.
A mineral heat system inside the shell generates continuous warmth, allowing the shells to remain comfortably heated while they're used throughout the massage.
Their smooth surface and unique shape allow them to glide over the body and fit naturally into the therapist's hands, making it possible to combine flowing massage movements with more focused work on areas of tension.
Unlike traditional hot stones that are heated externally before use, Lava Shells generate their own heat during the treatment.
What Can I Expect During My Lava Shell Massage?
Your treatment focuses on the back, neck and shoulders – areas where many of us naturally hold muscular tension and stress.
Warm Lava Shells are combined with massage oil and traditional hands-on massage techniques.
The shells glide over the muscles using slow, flowing movements, while their warmth provides a comforting heated massage experience. More focused movements can then be used where you're carrying additional tightness or tension.
The combination of continuous warmth, massage and touch makes this an intensely relaxing treatment while still allowing me to work more specifically on areas that feel tight.
Your treatment will always be adapted to your comfort.
What Does a Lava Shell Massage Feel Like?
The first thing you'll notice is the warmth.
The smooth heated shells glide across the skin alongside traditional massage movements, creating a continuous sensation of warmth and touch.
Many clients find this particularly relaxing because there isn't the same interruption between the heated element and the massage – the shells themselves are used as massage tools.
The pressure can be adapted throughout your treatment, so please let me know if you'd like anything adjusted.
Lava Shell Massage vs Traditional Massage
Both treatments use massage techniques to encourage relaxation and work on muscular tension, but the experience is quite different.
A traditional Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage is performed primarily using my hands and is a great choice if you simply want a focused massage treatment.
Lava Shell Massage adds continuous soothing warmth from the heated shells. The shells are incorporated directly into the massage movements alongside hands-on techniques.
If you're someone who loves warmth and wants an especially comforting, indulgent massage experience, Lava Shell Massage could be the perfect choice.
Lava Shell Massage vs Deep Tissue Massage
If you're deciding between the two, think about what you'd most like from your appointment.
Choose Lava Shell Massage if your priority is warmth, relaxation and easing everyday muscular tension through a combination of heated shells and massage.
Choose Deep Tissue Massage if your main priority is a firmer, more targeted treatment concentrating specifically on stubborn areas of muscular tightness and tension.
If you're still unsure, my Massage Guide can help you choose.

Lava Shell Massage may help to:
- Promote deep relaxation
- Ease everyday muscular tension
- Relax tight muscles
- Provide comforting warmth to the back, neck and shoulders

How Often Should I Have a Lava Shell Massage?
There is no set schedule.
Some clients choose Lava Shell Massage occasionally when they feel particularly tense or in need of relaxation, while others incorporate massage into their regular wellbeing routine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Lava Shells the same as hot stones?
No.
Both treatments use warmth as part of the massage experience, but Lava Shells are self-heating massage tools. Rather than being externally heated and simply placed or moved over the body, the smooth shells are held by the therapist and incorporated directly into flowing massage movements.
How do Lava Shells stay warm?
Lava Shells use a mineral heat system inside the porcelain shell to generate warmth during the treatment.
This allows the shells to provide continuous heat while they're incorporated into the massage.
Are the shells real seashells?
The Lava Shells I use are hand-crafted porcelain massage shells designed specifically for professional massage treatments.
Their smooth, non-porous surface makes them suitable for repeated professional use and allows them to glide comfortably over the skin.
Is Lava Shell Massage painful?
No. Lava Shell Massage is designed to be deeply relaxing.
Slower and deeper movements can be used to work on areas of muscular tension, but the pressure and treatment will always be adapted to your comfort.
Will the shells feel very hot?
The shells are designed to provide comfortable, controlled warmth during massage.
I manage the temperature throughout your treatment, but please tell me immediately if anything ever feels too warm for you.
Is Lava Shell Massage good for back and shoulder tension?
It can be a lovely choice when you're carrying everyday muscular tension through your back, neck and shoulders.
The treatment combines warmth with slow, focused massage movements to provide a relaxing and comforting massage experience.
If you're experiencing persistent, severe or unexplained pain rather than everyday muscular tension, appropriate medical assessment may be more suitable.
Can I have Lava Shell Massage if I don't like very firm massage?
Yes.
One of the lovely things about Lava Shell Massage is that the experience doesn't rely on extremely firm pressure. The treatment combines warmth with massage techniques, and the pressure can be adapted to your preference.
