Which Male Intimate Wax Should I Choose?
Intimate waxing names aren't standardised across the beauty industry. A treatment described as a Hollywood or Brazilian in one salon may therefore remove different areas of hair in another.
That's why I've given my Male Intimate Waxing treatments individual names and clearly explained exactly which areas are included.
If you want almost everything removed from the intimate area, look at the Maserati or Ferrari.
If you only want hair removed from the front, the Noble or McLaren may be more appropriate.
If you only want the buttocks or butt crack waxed, choose from the Bentley, Porsche or Mercedes.
And if you're still unsure, please contact me before booking and I'll help you choose the correct treatment.
What Is Male Intimate Waxing?
Male Intimate Waxing is professional hair removal from areas of male anatomy including, depending on the treatment chosen, the:
- Pubic area
- Groin
- Penis
- Scrotum
- Butt crack
- Buttocks
Some treatments can also incorporate larger areas such as the back, shoulders, chest and stomach.
You decide how much or how little hair you'd like removed by selecting the appropriate treatment.
The service is available to clients with male anatomy regardless of gender identity.
Professional Male Intimate Waxing by a Kim Lawless-Trained Therapist
Intimate waxing requires specialist training and technique.
I trained in Kim Lawless Male Intimate Waxing techniques, which are specifically designed for professional intimate and body waxing.
Your treatment is carried out personally by Angela in a private treatment room at Pamper Room.
My approach is professional, matter-of-fact and focused on giving you an effective treatment while protecting your comfort, privacy and dignity throughout.
Why I Use Perron Rigot Hot Wax for Intimate Waxing
I use professional Perron Rigot hot wax – also known as hard or non-strip wax – for intimate waxing.
Unlike traditional strip wax, hot wax sets around the hair and is removed directly without a fabric or paper strip.
This makes it particularly well suited to coarse hair and sensitive intimate areas, where reducing unnecessary pull on the skin is especially important.
The wax is applied directly to the treatment area, allowed to set around the hairs and then removed in a controlled movement.
Does Male Intimate Waxing Hurt?
You should expect some brief discomfort – after all, the hair is being removed from the root – but everyone's experience and pain threshold are different.
Using professional hot wax and specialist intimate-waxing techniques helps me carry out the treatment efficiently while keeping discomfort as manageable as possible.
The sensation is generally brief and over very quickly.
Many regular waxing clients also find they become much more accustomed to the sensation over time.
If you're nervous because this is your first intimate wax, please don't worry. I'll explain what we're doing and what I need you to do throughout the appointment.
How Long Does the Hair Need to Be?
For the best waxing result, I recommend allowing approximately 3–4 weeks of hair growth before your appointment.
Ideally, the hair should be around 10mm in length.
If you've recently shaved, please allow sufficient time for the hair to grow before booking.
Hair that is too short may not be successfully gripped by the wax, which can affect the finished result.
How Should I Prepare for Male Intimate Waxing?
Good preparation can make your treatment more comfortable and help achieve the best possible result.
Before your appointment:
- Allow approximately 3–4 weeks of hair growth
- Avoid shaving or trimming the hair extremely short beforehand
- Gently exfoliate the area in the days leading up to your appointment
- Avoid aggressive exfoliation immediately before waxing
- Arrive freshly showered and with the intimate area clean
- Avoid applying heavy body lotions or oils to the area immediately beforehand
- Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing where possible
- Let me know about any medication, medical conditions, allergies or skin concerns that may affect waxing
- Tell me if you're using any products or medication that make your skin more sensitive
If you're unsure whether something may affect your treatment, please contact me before your appointment.
Hygiene & Personal Preparation
Because intimate areas are being treated, good personal hygiene is essential.
Please arrive for your appointment freshly showered and with the treatment area clean.
If appropriate hygiene standards haven't been met, I reserve the right to postpone or refuse the treatment.
This protects both client and therapist and helps me maintain the professional hygiene standards expected at Pamper Room.
What Happens During a Male Intimate Wax?
Before your treatment begins, we'll confirm which wax you've booked and exactly which areas you'd like hair removed from.
You'll be given privacy to undress from the waist down as required for your treatment.
During the wax, I may need you to change position or assist with holding/stretching the skin so that the area can be waxed safely and effectively. I'll clearly explain what I need you to do as we go.
The skin is prepared before professional hot wax is applied to the areas being treated.
Once the waxing is complete, appropriate post-wax products are applied and I'll explain your aftercare.
Will I Need to Remove My Underwear?
For treatments involving the penis, scrotum, butt crack or surrounding intimate areas, yes – underwear will need to be removed so that I can safely and effectively access the treatment area.
You'll be given privacy to undress before your treatment begins.
Towels are used where appropriate, and only the areas necessary for the treatment will be exposed.
Wearing a comfortable T-shirt or top is recommended, as some clients can feel warm during an intimate waxing appointment.
Your privacy and dignity will be respected throughout your treatment.
Professional Boundaries During Intimate Waxing
Male Intimate Waxing is a professional beauty treatment and appropriate behaviour is expected at all times.
Because of the nature of intimate waxing, clear professional boundaries protect both you and me.
Any deliberately sexual, suggestive, threatening or otherwise inappropriate behaviour or comments will result in the treatment being stopped immediately and the client being asked to leave.
No refund will be provided where a treatment has to be terminated because of inappropriate behaviour.
Payment for Male Intimate Waxing
Male Intimate Waxing appointments must be paid for in full before the treatment is carried out.
Please make sure you've selected the correct treatment when booking.
If you're unsure which wax you require, contact me before booking and I'll help you choose.
How Long Will the Results Last?
Hair growth varies considerably from person to person.
You may begin to notice some regrowth within a few weeks, with more hair gradually appearing as the natural hair-growth cycle continues.
If you're new to waxing, you may also notice that not every hair grows back at exactly the same time.
With regular appointments, you'll begin to learn the waxing interval that works best for your own hair growth.
How Often Should I Have an Intimate Wax?
If you're starting regular intimate waxing, approximately every 4–6 weeks is a useful guide.
However, everyone's hair grows at a different rate, so there is no need to follow an exact schedule.
The important thing is to allow sufficient regrowth for the wax to grip the hair effectively.
For the best waxing routine, avoid shaving or plucking between appointments.
Male Intimate Waxing Aftercare
Some temporary redness, tenderness or small follicular bumps following waxing can be completely normal and will usually settle.
For the first 24–48 hours, treat the freshly waxed skin gently.
I recommend that you:
- Keep the waxed area clean and avoid unnecessary touching
- Wear loose, breathable clothing
- Avoid hot baths and very hot showers
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools
- Avoid sunbathing and sunbeds
- Avoid fake tan on the waxed area
- Avoid heavily fragranced products on freshly waxed skin
- Avoid vigorous exercise if it causes excessive sweating or friction
- Avoid massage over the freshly waxed area
- Avoid sexual activity that creates friction against the freshly waxed intimate area
Once the skin has settled, regular gentle exfoliation and moisturising can help maintain smooth skin and reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs.
I recommend beginning gentle exfoliation approximately 2–3 days after waxing and then continuing every few days as appropriate for your skin.
What About Ingrown Hairs?
Ingrown hairs can occur when a new hair has difficulty growing cleanly through the surface of the skin.
Regular gentle exfoliation and moisturising between waxing appointments can help keep the skin in good condition and reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs developing.
If you're particularly prone to ingrown hairs, I can recommend appropriate homecare products following your treatment.
Perron Rigot Hair Skincare and Aloe Clear are available to purchase from Pamper Room's Salon or my Online Store.
Frequently Asked Questions
I've Never Had a Male Intimate Wax Before – Should I Be Embarrassed?
Absolutely not.
Intimate waxing is a professional treatment and something I'm specifically trained to perform.
I'll explain what to expect and guide you through positioning during your appointment. There's no need to feel embarrassed or apologise for your body or body hair.
Can I Choose How Much Hair Is Removed?
Yes.
That's exactly why I've provided detailed descriptions for each of my waxing options.
Depending on the treatment, the pubic triangle can also be shaped or completely removed.
If you're uncertain which option gives you the result you want, contact me before booking.
What If My Hair Is Too Short?
If the hair is significantly shorter than recommended, the wax may not be able to grip it effectively.
If you've recently shaved, it's usually better to wait and allow sufficient regrowth rather than booking too soon and being disappointed with the result.
Do I Need to Trim Before My Appointment?
Don't trim the hair before your appointment.
If you've allowed approximately 3–4 weeks of growth, leave the hair for me to assess rather than trying to achieve the perfect length yourself.
How Long Does Male Intimate Waxing Take?
Appointment time depends on the treatment you've chosen, the amount and density of hair and your individual hair-growth pattern.
As a guide, a Ferrari intimate wax can usually be completed in around 30 minutes, although every client is different.
Why Do You Use Hot Wax Instead of Strip Wax?
Hot or hard wax is particularly useful on intimate areas because it grips the hair while creating less pull on the skin than traditional strip wax.
It is particularly effective on short, coarse and stubborn hair, which makes it well suited to intimate waxing.
Will I Be Completely Naked?
You only need to remove the clothing necessary for the treatment you've booked.
For a full intimate wax, you'll need to remove clothing and underwear from the waist down, but you don't need to remove your upper-body clothing.
Towels are used where appropriate to help maintain your privacy.
What If I Get an Erection During the Treatment?
This can occasionally happen as an involuntary physical response and isn't, by itself, something to be embarrassed about.
I'll simply continue to treat the appointment professionally.
However, deliberately sexual behaviour, comments or actions aren't acceptable and will result in the treatment being stopped.
Can I Have Sex After an Intimate Wax?
I recommend avoiding sexual activity that causes friction to the freshly waxed area for approximately 24 hours.
The skin can be more sensitive immediately after waxing, so allowing it time to settle can help minimise irritation.
Can I Exercise After Waxing?
It's best to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for approximately 24 hours, particularly following an intimate wax.
Heat, sweat and friction from tight clothing can irritate freshly waxed skin.
When Should I Contact You After Waxing?
Some temporary redness and follicular bumps can be normal following waxing.
If you have concerns about how your skin is reacting after your appointment, please contact me.
If you develop a significant, worsening or persistent skin reaction, seek advice from your GP, pharmacist or another appropriate healthcare professional.
