This section contains a description of what hair will be removed on female anatomy intimate waxing, FAQ's and Waxing aftercare advise.

What hair will be removed?

Throughout the UK and even the world, salons have interchanged the names for the intimate areas. This means that the Brazilian wax you receive in one salon may not be the same as the Brazilian that you’d receive in another.

For me a Brazilian Wax leaves a small strip, triangle or oval shape piece of hair in the front while all other pubic hair including that between your bottom cheeks (butt crack) is removed. A Hollywood wax is the removal of all the pubic hair down below, front, and back, inside and out!

It is one of my objectives to make you feel as comfortable as possible, before, during and after your waxing and I know not all clients are happy to discuss what hair will be removed or left from their intimate area, so to ease some of this embarrassment I have given my waxing treatments names based on what underwear you can expect to wear that will leave you with no visible hair sprouting out the sides!

Please read the descriptions below so that you walk out of my salon with the intimate wax you expected...

Commando (sometimes described as Hollywood)

The Commando wax removes every single pubic hair from down below. It includes the pubic mound, the inner and outer labia, the butt crack, bottom cheeks and any hair that may be spreading from the cheeks to the upper thigh. You could go commando because every hair will be gone!

G-String (sometimes describes as Brazilian)

The G-String wax leaves a thin strip of pubic hair that starts at the top of the pubic mound and ends at the start of the labia area. All remaining hair is removed, including the inner and outer labia, the butt crack, bottom cheeks and any hair that may be spreading from the bottom cheeks to the upper thigh.

 Thong

The Thong wax leaves a wider strip of pubic hair that starts on the pubic mound, going down over the labia and tapers to a point as it reaches the start of the butt crack. The Thong wax also includes the removal of any hair from inside the butt crack as well as any visible hair on the bottom cheeks.

Tanga

The Tanga wax leaves a wider strip of pubic hair that starts on the pubic mound, going down over the labia and tapers to a point as it reaches the start of the butt crack, any visible hair on the bottom cheeks will be removed but the hair from inside the butt crack will be left untouched.

Knickers (High Bikini)

The Knickers wax removes pubic hair from the top of the pubic line, down either side of the pubic mound and underneath onto the bottom cheeks. So if you were to wear high leg knickers no pubic hair would be showing outside. Any bottom hair remains and will not be waxed.

Bikini

The Bikini wax removes all visible pubic hair outside of the knicker line at the front only. So if you were wearing Bikini bottoms no pubic hair would be showing.

Bottom

The Bottom wax removes hair from just the bottom cheeks only, this means that all hair inside the butt crack and on the front will remain.

Preparation

* To avoid any embarrassment please arrive for your appointment clean and smelling fresh, otherwise we may refuse to carry out your waxing.

FAQ

How long does the hair need to be? For successful removal with best result please allow your hair to grow for between 3-4 weeks, or approximately 12mm.

What is my pubic hair is shorter than you recommend, can I still be waxed? If you hair is shorter than 12mm I will advised that you rebook for a date in the future. Waxing short hair will be more painful and the final result may not be satisfactory.

How long will the waxing result last? Everyone's hair grows at different rates so it really depends on your body, minimal hair growth will start to be seen within the first 3 weeks with gradual increase after that.

How often should I get waxed? When first starting out with intimate waxing I would recommend getting waxed every 4 to 5 weeks, over time you may notice that the hair growth time becomes longer allowing you to wait longer between waxing, but really the decision is yours and how long you can stand being hairy for!

Is it going to hurt? Everyone's pain threshold is different, but yes you are going to experience some discomfort. I have done everything I can to make your experience as comfortable as possible, including using the best hot wax product on the market and having chosen to be trained by the best waxing expert in England. Using Kim Lawless's technique any discomfort will be minimal and over quickly. The more you wax the less painful it will become and the results will be worth it.

Will I have to remove my underwear? You will be asked to remove all clothing from the waist down unless you are having a Bikini wax and then this can be done around your underwear.

How long does the waxing appointment take? Normally I can do a Commando (Hollywood) in 30 minutes but this can vary from client to client.

Why do you choose to use Hot Wax for intimate waxing rather than strip (warm) wax? I use Perron Rigot’s hot wax as it is gentler to the skin, the supple and non-brittle wax is applied in layers which encapsulates the hair which is then removed in a single pass without the need for fabric strips. This wax is perfect for all body areas and hair types, especially short, tough hair in sensitive areas.

I am on my period, can I still get waxed?

I have no issues waxing clients while they are on their periods, if possible please wear a tampon. I will discreetly work around the string but please note there maybe some areas were it is more difficult to removal hairs while avoiding the string and so I may not get 100% of the hairs that I would normally make sure are removed.

It is important to me that I make your intimate waxing experience as comfortable as possible, from pain to dignity so if you have any question prior to or after your treatment please feel free to contact me.

Hair Removal After Care Advice:

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure you get the best results from your hair removal treatment...

It is quite common and perfectly normal to have slight soreness and pimple like small bumps or redness following hair removal these are temporary reactions and should subside within 24-48 hours.

 * Ensure to keep the area clean and avoid touching.

 * Avoid applying deodorant, perfume, make-up, fake tan or talc for at least 8 hours, preferably 24 hours.

 * Avoid wearing tight clothing (such as leggings or tights) for 24 hours.

 * Avoid extreme heat. (Hot baths/showers, steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzi’s) for 24 hours.

 * No massage treatments for 24 hours.

 * Avoid exposure to UV light, including sun beds and sunbathing for 24 hours.

 * Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools for 24 hours.

 * Ensure to exfoliate your skin every 4-7 days starting 2-3 days after treatment. For best results try using a dry body brush and gently but firmly brush all over the areas you get waxed.

 * Ensure you moisturise your skin every day, which will keep the skin supple and help new hairs to break through.

These 2 steps can help prevent ingrown hairs!

* If you have had an intimate wax, you may feel sexier than ever, however it is advised to refrain from sexual activities for at least 24 hours to prevent infection.

Any concerns immediately following your treatment please contact me.

If you experience any spots or rashes for more than a week, please consult with your GP.

If you are new to hair removal treatments, you may notice a small amount of re-growth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments to achieve a silky-smooth finish. To maintain your smooth appearance, I would recommend regular treatments every 4-6 weeks. Please do not shave or pluck between your appointments.
